Girls Lock-In

I genuinely cannot believe that me and my co-intern were able to plan and execute a lock-in all ourselves! SO EXCITING! Me and my fellow intern, Tori, were uncharge of putting on a girls lock-in for middle and high school girls and it was a blast (thanks, Kim!)! From start to finish our goal was to put on a safe, fun, and christmas-filled event that would provide a sweet community for middle and high school girls.
Being Christmas month, we started the night with a christmas-themed photo booth, and a get-to-know-you game with Tori and myself. Imagine the shoe game engaged people pay, except it was the Lady Intern Edition! We continued the Christmas-themed festivities by playing a holiday version of “Ships and Sailors”, which got crazy (fun). We then played a couple games of Kajaba-can-can (a requested, favorite by everyone). After everyone was pretty tuckered out, we went onto the part of the night when we brought in one of the most awesome ladies to show the girls how to do “soul scripting”.
After mastering scripting, we went upstairs to continue the night with a christmas movie, hot chocolate and white chocolate popcorn (made by ours truly, Kim Whitten). As we made our beds and settled in, Tori and I made a plan for both of us to switch sleeping shifts so we always had a staff member awake. We also made sure to have a certain “down-time/lights-out” set for all of us! You can talk and stay up all night, but you must whisper, in bed.
We woke all the girls up with a pancake breakfast and gave them a devotional before they left around 10 AM.
