There are many times I get overwhelmed with the fact that God has chosen me to serve in Student Ministry, & last night was definitely one of those nights. Our ministry had our annual "Promotion Sunday Leaders Meeting". This is a meeting our staff likes to have with our adult leaders before the first Sunday our kids transition into the next grade. Our pastors like to communicate about the vision they put together for this upcoming year, future events to look out for, & a few house-keeping items. Yesterday, as all the leaders were enjoying their dinner an fellowshipping with one another, I looked around the room amazed. It hit me just how amazing our adult leaders are. "We couldn't do this without you!" is a phrase that is often repeated by our staff to our leaders, but the weight of that statement hit me last night. We seriously could not do any of this without them. From bible studies, to big events, to teaching on Sunday mornings- they are constantly bringing a snacks to eat, opening up their home, discipling kids one-on-one, & giving up their friday night to roam the halls of our church to make sure kids don't sneak away during one of our events. I guess the point of this post is to tell you that if you serve in students ministry, or if you serve in any capacity, THANK YOU. If this is the first "thank you" you've heard, or the thousandth, know that it's sincere. Thank you for exemplying Christ & for placing others above yourself.
